Building Schools for the Future (BSF), the largest single capital investment programme in England in the past 50 years, aims to rebuild or significantly refurbish all 3500 secondary schools. It is a programme that will transform our existing schools into world class learning environments, fit for the 21st century, enabling generations of young people to achieve their potential and to become life long learners.

BSF is not simply a capital build programme. More important than the buildings is the teaching and learning that takes place inside, and outside. St Helens Council is using the £150 million investment in BSF as the opportunity to implement a transformational strategy to meet the visions, aims and objectives of 'The Children and Young Peoples Plan' and to create learning environments that engage and inspire young people, their teachers and the wider community to develop buildings for the 21st century with teaching and learning to match.
