Welcome to the St.Helens Building Schools for the Future website.
delivering the promise
Building Schools for the Future (BSF) is the largest single capital investment programme in 50 years to rebuild and renew virtually all of England's 3,500 secondary schools. It is a programme that will transform our existing schools into world class learning environments that will enable generations of young people to achieve their potential.
BSF is not simply a building programme. The programme creates an important opportunity to transform the way secondary schools function, developing buildings for the 21st Century with teaching and learning to match. St Helens Council intends to use BSF as a transformational strategy to meet the vision, aims and objectives of the Children and Young People's Plan and to create learning environments that will engage and inspire young people, their teachers and the wider community.
Cllr Brian Spencer, Leader of the Council and Chair of the BSF Project Board, Carole Hudson, Chief Executive and BSF Project Owner and Tim Byles, Chief Executive Partnerships for Schools sign the Memorandum of Understanding following the Remit for Change Meeting on 4th October 2007
Our recent Market Communication Event, aimed at lead LEP Partners, attracted over 40 organisations. See the Programme pages for a copy of the presentation.
